Welcome to Te Kura Tirohanga Maunga - a beautiful school filled with passionate people ready and willing to give your child the best deal possible. Our vision and values are both the way we do things and what we and our whaanau want for our tamariki. Our akonga are learning to be kind, honest, determined, courageous, respectful and humble and because of this they 'Thrive with confidence - kia puawai me te maia'.
Our school lives and breathes our own special culture that includes and welcomes all. Te Tiriti - partnership, protection and participation form the backbone of our approach BUT, just like our tamariki, we are also on a journey and are learning - getting a little bit better, everyday. Always maintaining a focus on what we can be doing better to ensure our children are thriving with confidence.
Our website will give you an insight into life at MVS. If you have any other questions or queries our doors and gates are open and we are ready and willing to give you the answers you need.

At MVS we are a family/whaanau focussed kura. We want our tamariki to know what it means to be part of a team that wants to win! Competition promotes resilience, teaches valuable lessons about doing your best, winning well, learning to lose, working as a team and doing your part. Being part of a 'Whaanau' at MVS means being part of a team driven by a common cause. Being a part of our whaanau competition highlights what is valued at MVS - things like showing our values, being an active learner, being AT school ON time, and doing your best, even when no one is looking. Your whole child's habitat belongs to one of our three whaanau. Your child's whaanau may change from year to year and this is ok. We all need to be a part of different teams at different times in our lives - another valuable lesson learned at MVS!
